  • Gift year round and not just at Christmas. Birthdays, holidays and important milestones for your client and company relationship, are all occasion that can be marked with a gift and often have more impact as they are less expected.
  • Make it personal: include a handwritten note addressed to the recipient expressing your sentiments and perhaps why you chose this gift for them.
  • Make it memorable: Perhaps they have a hobby or interest they have told you about, or confessed their love of chocolate to you. Making a gift with their likes in mind is sure to impress and leave a lasting impression on your clients.
Don’t
  • Spend like crazy: You don’t need to spend thousands of Euros to try and impress! A thoughtful gift that reflects their likes and personality will showcase how well you understand them better than an expensive bottle of champagne ..when they don’t even drink champagne!
  • .Don’t be cheap: While spending huge is not necessary, you don’t want to pinch pennies on corporate gifting either. Remember that the gift is a reflection of your business and your brand – you want it to be thoughtful, memorable and of high quality.
  • Make it promotional. A branded pen or USB stick is likely to end up tossed in a drawer and worse than this, it can actually lower your brands value in the eyes of a client. A gift should not be filled with corporate branded items, instead gift them useful tasteful items that they can use on a daily or frequent basis, and be reminded each time from whom they received it.
